New Specials!

Katia has worked her magic once again.

We just introduced two new specials. The beet salad (Patzarosalata) has remained on special due to popular demand and we are now featuring a rich winter stew and an exciting Pork dish....

Youvarlakia
This is a traditional Greek winter stew. It is a thick soup made with avgolemono (egg & lemon beat together with the broth to make a creamy and tart texture), beef meatballs and rice. Rich and hearty, this stew is a meal in itself ($8)

Heirino me Thamaskina
Tender cubes of pork simmered in white wine. Enhanced with thyme and oregano and finished with sweet plums and slivers of roasted almonds. Served over a bed of rice pilaf. ($17)

I just had the Heirino for dinner - It was so good I practically inhaled it - I enjoyed my meal with a glass of Ecco Domani Pino Griggio :)

Time to wrap up a busy evening! Goodnight to all and see you soon!

One year since Katia took over!

November 1st marks the anniversary since Katia bought out Greg's shares. Although for the most part it's been a smooth transition, many changes and improvements have taken place.

Most noticeable change would be the new LED lit Pasparos Sign out front and the blue & white awnings. We just love it when people walk in and make an enthusiastic remark about how nice the entrance looks!

Last July we celebrated North Vancouver's 100 years and hosted a fundraiser for the North Shore Women's Centre. The Outlook and the North Shore News both covered our event. We had live performances by the band Xastouki and belly dancer Yasmina. The event raised over $4000 for the Women's Centre!
We have a lot of work ahead of us as the Holidays approach - it's always a lively time for Pasparos, full of parties, dancing and laughter... looking forward to more fun times!

Thank you for checking out our Blog!

October is generally a slow month for us - time to reflect on the busy summer that went by and an opportunity to fuel up for the craziness of the approaching Holiday Season - big parties and celebrations and much laughter to look forward to!

We are just about to bid farewell to Grandma and Grandpa that have graced us with their presence from Greece - we will miss them and we're sure the staff will miss all the warm hugs and kisses that Grandma so generously distributed! hehehehe

They fly back to the village in Crete on Wednesday and the place won't be the same without them. Kalo Taxithi Giagia kai Pappou! (Have a good trip, Grandma & Grandpa!)
